This website shows the amounts of vitamins/minerals/fatty acids in alaskan wild salmon (contains no manmade antibiotics/hormones like meat/farmed fish do).

Do not cook with vegetable oils (Corn, rape, sunflower, vegetable), because they soon go rancid (lid off, oxygen gets in) and they are very unstable to heat, being polyunsaturated fats, they have many double bonds in their structure, which are highly reactive. Use olive oil when cooking, or goose fat.

    Magnesium citrate
    Lamberts do a 150mg.

Take care you do not overdose with magnesium, because of its laxative effect, LOL! There is a book called the magnesium miracle on amazon, if you want to read up on magnesium.

Your eye pain maybe related to water build up or/and contraction occuring after looking at light, i.e. eye doesn’t re-focus.

Pharmaceutical grqde fish oil like Pharma Nord is about £11.95 for 160.
    Check it on amazon (UK)

Better than taking pain killers. Fish oil deals with the cause, and empowers peoples lives. I wish hospitals and doctors would teach patients how to look after themselves, take responsibility for themselves, thru good supplementation, good diet. Doctors sometimes seem to be sopprting pharmaceutical companys, pushing drugs if they are not careful. When INTELLIGENT doctors, young are capable of being taught alot more about nutrition, when the drugs are not working (too toxic!)

I have been taking a Pharmaceutical grade fish oil, it promises it will not be contaminated with mercury like some fish oils are! Fish oil helps decrease insulin resistance and removes or exchanges place in cell membrane with the saturated fats that do cause insulin resistance… i.e. palmirtic acid, myrisitic acid. Some saturated fat is good to help use omega 3 well, but they do compete to some extent. Saturated fats in excess cause depression, insulin resistance and the opposite to fish oil!

It maybe altering the fluid level in your eye. eyes contain saturated fat and DHA (fish oil fat). Why not try eating some wild alaskan salmon. Can get it from supermarket (frozen). Mackerel is good. I also know that magnesium maybe used more to utiliise fish oil. Magnesium citrate supplement may help. Green vegetables, meat provide magnesium. Magnesium alters fluid in eye, interacts with sodium.

Reasons because fish oil seems a cure all is because the animals we eat are grain fed (high in omega 6), farmed fish are fed on high omega 6, we cook with MEGA high omega 6 vegetable oils (we shouldn’t!) olive oil OK, (monounsaturated, not high in omega 6). Brain is 60% fat, high in fish oil (EPA, DHA fats) so is the eyes!
We want to counteract our high cancer causing, inflammatory causing omega 6 diet with fish oils!

The omega-3 fish oil hurt my eyes, too! I thought it was all in my head, but when I stopped taking the fish oil, the pain went away. What causes it?

I have chronic dry eye no thanks to damage caused by the acne medication Accutane. The fish oil did make my eyes moist again, but the pain was excruciating for me to accept. I’d rather live with dry eyes for the rest of my life than to deal with the pain from fish oil.

    Dude-
You’re very cool. Good information, and you’re easy to watch too. I’ve gone over a couple of your videos now. Thanks for sharing the info on vitamin D and Omega 3s. I knew some of it, the the reinforcement’s great. Thanks again,

Am J Clin Nutr. 2009;89(5). n-3 fatty acids receiving the most attention are derived from fish: EPA; 20:5n-3 and DHA; 22:6n-3. Limited data are available on plant n?3 ie ALA; 18:3n-3. Meta-analyses suggest EPA and DHA supplementation do not provide additive cardiovascular protection beyond standard care. No data exist on EPA, DHA or ALA supplement benefits for people already consuming vegetarian diets. There’s insufficient evidence to recommend n?3 supplements for cardiovascular protection

I took Omegabrite’s fish oil from August 2008 – Summer 2009. It HURT my eyes especially my right eye or the area beneath it, plus it used to make my eye lids really twitchy. On the plus side I hadn’t exercised since 2006 but when I start exercising in June 2009 my performance was really good (easily reached 180 HBM)

I started using fish oil out of concerns stemming from diabetes and family heart disease. I have felt healthy for a few years now. My blood sugar is now normal. After taking fish oil for a while, I began feeling more focused, stopped suffering from depression, socialized better, and imroved my reading skills. Dr. andrew Stole of harvard pioneered most discoveries. He produces a oil called omega brite. I also take natures bouny which has a very different EPA:DHA ratio than “omega brite”.

As I previously commented, I’ve been taking taking pharmaceutical grade fish oil and flax seed oil daily for almost two years. Another amazing thing has happened. I’ve had very bad receeding gums for years, which would bleed a lot during twice a year cleanings despite my brushing well four times a day. At my last two cleanings (one today actually,) my gums are very healthy and pink. My dentist is floored by this because the only thing I have changed is that I take the fish oil and flax oil gels.

I broke my shoulder in late 2007, and my joints went crazy with inflamation – my hands, fingers, knees, etc. I could not pick up a coffee pot or hang up a sweater without pain in my joints. I started taking pharmaceutical grade fish oil, glucosamine chondroiten, and flax seed oil daily. After almost two years of this my joints are doing great! I still have nerve damage down the right arm after the broken shoulder, but my joints are absolutely wonderful. I would never have believed it.

In order to get toxic amounts of mercury, you have to have more than like, 5 grams daily. I take 2 grams daily and haven’t had adverse reactions. I’ve read that of all the marketed fish oils that you can buy, NONE of them had tracable amounts of mercury. I mean, extensive things are done to make sure that stuff does not get sold. I’m pretty sure you’re safe.

  22. AzathothianBrew

Hmm, pharmaceutical grade fish oil is the kind to buy. Generic fish oil can contain high levels of mercury I believe I read somewhere…

Any type of unsaturated fat helps with skin complexion. Especially olive oil. Any POLYunsaturated and/or MONOunsaturated fats will do.

  24. manicjupiterflute

You can find a 2 bottle set at wal mart for about 10 bucks. Fish oil is not expensive. Now…..FOOD derived omega 3’s are expensive, and you don’t get as many mg as you do when you buy fish oil.

  25. manicjupiterflute

Any brand is good. Try Now Foods, Nature Made, or nordic something (I forgot the full brand name but you can search for it on iherb (dot) com Just take at least 1,000 mg per day.
